Terms of service
These terms apply to painting services provided by Painter Hotline, a Colorado trade name of Search Converts LLC. Every written estimate incorporates them, and where a signed estimate and these terms differ, the signed estimate controls.
Estimates
An estimate holds for 30 days from issue unless it says otherwise, and reflects only what could be seen when it was prepared. Things that turn up once work starts, such as rot behind a trim board or a prior coating nobody disclosed, are quoted separately in writing and wait for your approval before that part of the job goes ahead. We do not proceed and bill afterward.
Estimates prepared from photographs
Where an estimate is prepared from images you supply, it reflects the surfaces and conditions visible in them. If on-site conditions differ materially, we advise you in writing before proceeding.
Storm damage and insurance
We document visible damage and provide a written scope. We do not adjust claims, negotiate with insurers, interpret policy coverage, or offer to absorb, waive or rebate any insurance deductible. Any claim remains between you and your insurer.
Scheduling and weather
Exterior work is weather dependent. We will not apply coatings outside the manufacturer's stated temperature, humidity and surface conditions, and sustained wind may suspend spray application. Weather delays are not a breach of agreement.
Payment
Your dates are held by a deposit. The remainder falls due once the work is substantially complete and you have walked it with us. Where a project is large enough to warrant progress payments, that schedule appears on the estimate alongside the figures. Cash, check and major credit cards.
Materials and color
Unless the estimate states you are supplying materials, we purchase the products named in it. Colors are confirmed by you in writing before application. Changes after materials are purchased or application has begun may incur additional cost. Screen and print representations of color are approximations.
Access and site conditions
You agree to provide reasonable access including utilities and water where required, to secure pets and livestock, and to remove or identify fragile and valuable items. We protect surfaces not being coated as standard.
Warranty
Every project carries a written 5-year workmanship warranty. It responds where a coating peels, flakes, blisters or releases and the cause traces to how we prepared the surface or how we applied the material. The full list of what sits outside it, including storm damage after completion, is set out on our warranty page. Coating manufacturers warrant their own products separately from us.
Lead-safe practices
Housing built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Work disturbing those surfaces is performed in accordance with the federal EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting rule. You agree to disclose the year of construction and any known lead testing results.
Association approvals
Where a property is governed by an association, obtaining approval for exterior color and material changes is the owner's responsibility. We assist with samples and submission materials, and work is scheduled after approval.
Insurance
We carry liability insurance and provide a certificate on request before work begins.
Cancellation
Before anyone starts, either side can walk away; your deposit comes back less anything already bought or custom-tinted for the job. Once work is underway, cancellation is settled against what has actually been done and what has been used.
Photographs
Photographs you submit are used to prepare your estimate and for project documentation. We do not publish customer photographs without permission.
Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited to the contract amount for the work performed. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Colorado law.
Privacy
Information submitted through this site is used to respond to your inquiry and provide services. We do not sell personal information.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
